MedVestors:An overview

Having worked in Executive Search specializing in the Medical Device Industry for the past thirty years, our company became aware of the need to put emerging technology companies together with interested investors. There was no forum for the companies devoted to Medical Devices and the lack therein presented a major hurdle to companies and investors who were trying to connect with one another.

Three years ago, we held our first MedVestors meeting in Pennsylvania. This forum was initiated by Adam Dakin, CEO of X-Site Medical. The response by investors and company executives alike was more than positive, and we decided to continue it's occurrence. The value is obvious, as this forum is a prime venue for showcasing technologies and networking with investors. As a result, MedVestors has grown in reputation and stature, as attendance has tripled, and companies and investors are contacting us for inclusion in the forum.

The cost will remain minimal, because MedVestors is an invaluable networking tool for Barone-O'Hara Associates and a value-add for our business. We also strongly feel that emerging companies need to preserve their capital, so cost becomes an issue. The investors and companies are symbiotic so each pays the same. It is a pleasure to match investors with businesses who need their advice, direction, and resources. This is also a value for investors who want to learn about emerging technologies, companies, and executives.

We have presented over 150 companies at three separate venues…Philadelphia, New Jersey and Boston with over 150 local investors in attendance. A reasonable percentage of our Presenters have accrued funding, which we think is significant in this tough funding environment. Many of the Investors have told us that our forum is one of the best they have ever attended due to the high quality of the Presenters and quality of other attendees with whom they can network.
